Real Madrid captain Kylian Mbappe has contacted the legal commission of the French Professional Football League and UEFA to resolve the financial dispute he has with PSG, his former team, according to a report in the newspaper Le Monde.
The Real Madrid striker has been involved in a dispute with PSG for weeks over an issue related to a series of financial amounts that were allegedly unpaid by the club and which the player is demanding.
According to Le Monde, Mbappe has stopped receiving 55 million euros (61 million dollars), an amount that includes the last third of the signing bonus (36 million euros gross - 39 million dollars) that the player should have received in February, the last three months of salary provided for in his contract (April, May and June) as well as an "ethical bonus" for these three months.
The newspaper reports that Mbappé also appealed to UEFA via the French Football Federation (FFF).
The Parisian club did not react, but a source close to PSG told AFP that "things are more positive behind the scenes, the ongoing talks have been developing constructively for months," noting that the club's management has received "nothing from the Professional Football League or the FFF."
Earlier this year, both sides claimed Mbappe had waived part of his bonuses in his deal with PSG a year ago after being sidelined for a month.
These bonuses were around 60 or 70 million euros (66 or 77 million dollars), according to a source close to the club, and financially covered PSG in the event of the player's free departure, who left for Real Madrid in June when his contract ended, without there being any payment in return for the French team.
