Ice-cold Heidenheim celebrated a start to measure: FC St. Pauli won the FCH with 2:0. For the neighbourhood kickers, who played a decent game, it was a bitter prelude after 13 years of Bundesliga abstinence.

St. Pauli's coach Alexander Blessin made a change after the 3:2 victory against Halle after an extension: Ritzka started instead of Stevens (Bank).
