Despite going a goal ahead in the first-half of their Ligue 1 clash against Reims on Sunday, Marseille found themselves trailing 2-1 shortly after the break. Luckily for coach Roberto De Zerbi, summer signing Greenwood popped up with a goal in the last 20 minutes to seal a point for the hosts.
Greenwood scored twice in his Ligue 1 debut as Marseille beat Brest 5-1 in their opening game of the season and his effort this week took his tally up to three goals from just two matches. The last player to score at least three times in his first two Ligue 1 games for the club was former West Ham star Payet in 2013 - per Opta.
The 22-year-old, who faced charges of attempted rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and controlling and coercive behaviour before they were dropped in February last year, is off to a good start in Ligue 1 after Marseille signed him from Manchester United in a €30 million (£25m/$34m) deal.
Greenwood, who could end up representing Jamaica at international level in the future instead of England, will hope to maintain his early-season form when De Zerbi's team face Toulouse in Ligue 1 next week.
