Footballers take their ratings on video games seriously and further proof of that came when De Bruyne found out his pace had dropped, falling from 72 to 67. The Manchester City and Belgian star turned 33 in June, and EA SPORTS clearly feel like he's lost a step after suffering an injury-hit 2023-24 campaign.
"I think they took this when I was on crutches last season," De Bruyne replied, per ESPN.
He shouldn't be too upset, though. Out of all Premier League stars, only Man City team-mates Rodri and Erling Haaland (both 91) have a higher overall rating than De Bruyne's 90 on the new game.
De Bruyne isn't the only Premier League star who's annoyed by his ratings on the game. When he discovered that his shooting was given a score of 81, Arsenal's Leandro Trossard replied: "Should be much higher! No, that's not enough. Not at all."
De Bruyne will hope to show EA SPORTS that they've got his pace wrong this season. The midfielder will be in action on Saturday when City take on Brentford in the Premier League.
