The draw for the 2025 Club World Cup will take place on 5 December.The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has announced the pot divisions ahead of the Club World Cup draw.
The Club World Cup will be held in the summer of 2025 under a new format.A total of 32 clubs, including the champions from 2021 to 2024 from each continent, will gather in the USA to clash for the title of best club in the world.
With Botafogo's victory in the Copa Libertadores final on 30 November, all 32 participating clubs are now in place, and FIFA will hold the draw for the group stage in Miami, USA, on 5 November.Prior to this, the pot divisions from Pot 1 to Pot 4 were decided.
Pot 1 includes four European and four South American clubs each, with UEFA Champions League champions Real Madrid and Manchester City, plus the big European clubs Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, while South American powerhouse Liber Plate and last year's South American champions Fluminense are also in Pot 1Pot 2 is made up of eight European clubs.
Pot 2 was filled by eight European clubs, while Pot 3 contained the top two clubs from Asia, Africa, North and Central America and the Caribbean, and the remaining two from South America.Pot 4 will also include the 2022 Asian champions Urawa Reds and Lionel Messi's Inter Miami, who will compete as the host nation.
The pot divisions for the 2025 Club World Cup are as follows.
Pot 1: Manchester City (England), Real Madrid (Spain), Bayern Munich (Germany), Paris Saint-Germain (France), Flamengo (Brazil), Palmeiras (Brazil), Liber Plate (Argentina), Fluminense (Brazil).
Pot 2: Chelsea (England), Dortmund (Germany), Inter (Italy), Porto (Portugal), Atletico Madrid (Spain), Benfica (Portugal), Juventus (Italy), Salzburg (Austria).
Pot 3: Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia), Ulsan HD (South Korea), Al Ahli (Egypt), Widad (Morocco), Monterrey (Mexico), Club León (Mexico), Boca Juniors (Argentina), Botafogo (Brazil)
Pot 4: Urawa Reds (Japan), Al Ain (United Arab Emirates), Esperance Tunis (Tunisia), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Pachuca (Mexico), Seattle Sounders (USA), Auckland City (Australia), Inter Miami.(USA)
