Almost everything has been going right for Christian Pulisic this season. Up until last week, the American forward had been enjoying one of the best moments of his career with AC Milan - he is the team’s top scorer with eight goals and also leads the assists ranking, level on six with Rafael Leão.
For that reason the Rossoneri are delighted with the USMNT captain and don’t want to lose him. According to Fabrizio Romano, the club is finalizing details to extend his contract until at least 2028, with an option for another year, taking him to 2029.
With the new deal, Pulisic would become one of the club’s highest-paid players, earning around 4 to 5 million euros ($4.2 million to $5.25 million).
After an unsuccessful stint with Chelsea, Pulisic signed a four-year contract with the Italian side, until July 2027, so the extension is for one more year and with the option to continue until 2029.
Pulisic’s challenges for 2025
Unfortunately for the American player, 2024 ended on a low note for him. He suffered a tear in his right calf muscle during his team’s 2-1 loss to Atalanta on 6 December.
With any luck he will be ready to return to action on January 3, when Milan play the Italian Super Cup semi-final against Juventus in Saudi Arabia.
Pulisic is also looking to become a four-time champion of the Concacaf Nations League, a tournament that only the United States has won. The USMNT will face Panama in the semi-finals in March, with the winners meeting either Mexico or Canada in the final.
