KNVB announced changes to the Dutch national team members who will face Spain in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Nations League (UNL) 2024-25.
Defender Jurriën Timber has been forced to withdraw from the team. According to an announcement from the KNVB, Timber has been deemed unable to make it to the second leg of the UNL quarterfinals against Spain on the 23rd due to poor health.
KNVB has announced the additional call-up of Ian Maatsen.
Maatsen has never played a senior international for the Netherlands, but he has been called up a number of times since his first call-up in October 2023, and was also called up as an additional member of the squad for EURO 2024. This is the first time he has been called up since last October's series.
