Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich will be looking to celebrate their final game of the season with a win over home side Hoffenheim at the PreZero Arena on Saturday. Hoffenheim are currently fourth from the bottom and 15th in the table. Their 32 points may already be enough to avoid falling into the 16th relegation play-off spot, while Bayern are on 79 points after beating Borussia Monchengladbach 2-0 on May 10.
Hoffenheim drew 2-2 with Wolfsburg in their most recent Bundesliga match last Friday, but conceded in the first minute of the game, and head coach Christian Ilzer will be disappointed that his side lost twice with less than 1 xG. The ball was scored into their own net for the 12th time in the Bundesliga in the last four games, but they also scored 10 goals. The hosts are currently three points ahead of 16th-placed Heidenheim and have a goal difference of -18, six more than their relegation rivals, meaning they have a good chance of staying in the league as long as they don't lose badly to Bayern.
Ilzer's side have failed to win in their last four games, losing two, while in their last nine they have lost four, drawn four and won just one. Hoffenheim's home form has been poor, and while they have lost just one of their last five games, they have won just one in that time, while in their previous seven they lost four and drew three.
Bayern had two big chances against Borussia Monchengladbach and an xG of 1.7, so they can be said to be lucky to keep a clean sheet. To their credit, the visitors have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four games, while in their previous 12 they had only kept a clean sheet in three.
Vincent Kompany's side have also been excellent in front of goal, finding the back of the net 16 times in their last six games, and their total of 95 goals in the Bundesliga is at least 25 more than any other top team. Bayern are unbeaten in six games in all competitions, three of which were wins, and are unbeaten in eight Bundesliga games, five of which were wins. The club has not lost away from home since January 22 against Feyenoord in the Champions League, winning six of the 10 games since that match.
Hoffenheim predicted starting lineup:
Baumann; Chavez, Ostigard, Akpoguma; Kadrabek, Stach, Bischoff, Burt; Toure, Kramaric; Hlozek
Bayern Munich predicted starting lineup:
Neuer; Laimer, Dier, Stanisic, Guerrero; Kimmich, Pavlovic; Olise, Muller, Sane; Kane
