Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has embraced an unconventional hobby since taking charge at the City Ground.

Nuno, aged 51, joined Forest in December 2023 and has transformed the club, guiding them to their first European qualification in 30 years after a challenging initial season that nearly ended in relegation.

As reported by The Athletic, it's not only his on-field results that have captivated everyone at Nottingham; the Portuguese tactician has also revealed his multifaceted personality.

The former Wolves and Tottenham boss is renowned for being composed, disciplined, and soft-spoken in public.

Behind the scenes, he displays diverse traits, with former teammates recalling him as an adventurous deep-sea diver and a witty presence in the dressing room.

Nottingham Forest captain Ryan Yates has highlighted Nuno's passion for music.

One of the first actions the ex-Porto star took upon joining was finding a music shop in Nottingham to acquire a handpan, a percussion instrument that creates soothing sounds when tapped on its steel edges, resembling a large metallic shell.

This melodic instrument is now commonly heard emanating from the manager's office.

Yates shared with The Athletic: "Is that what it's called? I went for a chat with him and just sat there while he played it for five or 10 minutes. It was incredible—like walking into a luxury spa or a five-star hotel. I thought I was going to fall asleep!"

Yates emphasized that this is just one example of what makes Nuno a "very special man."

The midfielder also commended the former goalkeeper's outstanding work at Forest, including leading them to the FA Cup semi-finals this season.

Yates added: "He's a very special man. He's different from anyone I've encountered before, but above all, he's exceptional at his job. It's incredible how he's steered Forest to their first European success in 30 years. It speaks volumes."

Nuno is now preparing for Sunday's critical home match against Chelsea in the final game of the 2024-25 Premier League season, where a win and favorable results elsewhere could secure Champions League qualification.
