In the 1903-04 season, Saint-Gilloise won the league championship for the first time. By the 1934-35 season, Saint-Gilloise won the league championship 11 times, making it the team that won the most top league championships in Belgium at that time.

But since then, Saint-Gilloise has not won the league championship for 90 years. During this period, Anderlecht won 34 titles and Club Brugge won 19 championships.

Now, Saint-Gilloise has finally ended its 90-year league championship drought. After winning the Belgian First Division championship, Saint-Gilloise will go straight to the Champions League next season. This is also the first time in Saint-Gilloise's history to participate in the Champions League.
