As per a report from Foot Mercato, Chelsea FC is preparing to offer 22-year-old Emanuel Emegha a six-year contract as he prepares to leave RC Strasbourg Alsace.
Emegha has been heavily linked with a move between the sister clubs, where the Dutch forward has thrived under head coach Liam Rosenior. He scored nine goals in 31 appearances last season, improving to 14 goals in 29 games this season.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano stated today that although a transfer is anticipated, Emegha is unlikely to play in England next season. Instead, he is expected to be loaned back to Strasbourg to aid in their UEFA Europa Conference League campaign.
Although Strasbourg finished outside the European spots in Ligue 1, they secured a spot in the UEFA Europa Conference League after Paris Saint-Germain won the Coupe de France final against Stade de Reims, granting the next eligible team entry.
