Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has explained that he held up his middle finger to the crowd outside the team's hotel in Kuala Lumpur following alleged insults about his mother.
Amad was observed making the gesture as he passed by fans during United's post-season tour of Malaysia.
After a video of the incident circulated on social media, Amad posted on X to clarify, stating: "I have respect for people but not for those who insult my mom..."
"I shouldn't have reacted that way, but I don't regret my actions. We had a wonderful time in Malaysia with great people."
United lost 1-0 to ASEAN All Stars on Wednesday, with Amad entering as a substitute at Bukit Jalil Stadium.
United's preseason tour ends in Hong Kong on Friday with a friendly match against the national team.
