Monterrey Coach Confirms Ramos Will Play in Club World Cup

Monterrey has been drawn into Group E of the Club World Cup alongside Inter Milan, River Plate, and Urawa Red Diamonds. They will face Inter Milan in their opening match on June 18. Spanish center-back Sergio Ramos will be available for Monterrey, as confirmed by head coach Fernando Ortiz in a press conference on Tuesday.
"We have to be cautious with Sergio because he’s just returning from a serious injury and couldn’t play in the final stage match against Toluca. But now, he’s fully ready for the next challenge."
The 39-year-old Ramos has not played in any official matches for Monterrey since April 21 due to a muscle injury, which sidelined him for the final stretch of the season.
