Jude Bellingham has criticized the pitches at the Club World Cup, announced plans for shoulder surgery, and discussed his 'rivalry' with his brother.

Bellingham scored the opening goal in Real Madrid's 3-1 victory against Pachuca at the Club World Cup, but he expressed dissatisfaction with the pitch at Bank of America Stadium in North Carolina.

'I know it's the same for everyone, but the pitches are far from ideal,' he said. 'The ball doesn't bounce properly and holds up, which puts extra strain on the knees.'

'Hopefully, organizers will address this before next year's World Cup. It's crucial to protect players while delivering an exciting show for fans.'

The 21-year-old also disclosed that he will undergo surgery for a shoulder problem he has been dealing with since 2023, following the tournament.

'I'm tired of wearing the brace,' Bellingham said.

'If we reach the final, I'll have the surgery a few days afterward to fix it. I'm relieved it's finally happening. It's been ongoing for too long.'

'The pain has eased somewhat, but I'm frustrated with it—opponents tugging on it and causing issues repeatedly.'

'I've reached my limit. I'm fed up with playing in a brace, especially in this heat, and I look forward to feeling like my normal self.'

'I'm ready for a pain-free shoulder and full mobility.'

Bellingham's goal marked his first in the tournament, tying him with his brother Jobe, who scored for Sunderland on Saturday.

When asked if his brother's goal was on his mind, Bellingham replied: 'A bit, to be honest. Everyone was teasing me yesterday, saying he's better than me, so I had to respond today.'

'Now we're even at 1-1, and we'll see how it goes for the rest of the tournament.'
