The Chelsea winger came off the bench and provided the crucial assist for Christopher Nkunku's late winner at Bournemouth on Saturday, earning the Player of the Match award in the process. After the game, the 24-year-old took to social media to celebrate the win, and his ex-United team-mate Fernandes was one of many to congratulate the England international.
After Sancho wrote on Instagram: "Delighted to make my @chelseafc debut, and to top it off with a win! 🅰️💪🏼," Fernandes responded on the post, "Some player you 🔥. Keep that smile."
Sancho is looking to rebuild his career after a disappointing and drama-fuelled stay at the Red Devils. The former Borussia Dortmund star joined the Blues on a loan-to-buy deal late last month and now he has gotten off to an ideal start. Whether he can kick on from here remains to be seen.
Sancho will hope to get more game time when Chelsea take on London neighbours West Ham in the Premier League in an early kick-off on Saturday, before taking on Barrow in round three of the Carabao Cup.
