Bayern Munich announced on the 23rd that Canadian international defender Alphonso Davies has suffered an injury.
Alphonso Davies started the match against Feyenoord in the Champions League (CL) on the 22nd. However, he injured his left foot in first-half stoppage time. He was unable to continue and was replaced by defender Raphael Guerreiro.
The club announced that Alphonso Davies had undergone a medical examination. The results confirmed damage to the muscles in his left calf and it was announced that he would be sidelined for the time being.
Davies joined Bayern Munich from Vancouver Whitecaps on a permanent deal in January 2019. With his blistering pace, he has become a mainstay at left-back for the Bavarians and has made 25 appearances in all competitions so far this season, scoring one goal and providing three assists.
Davis' original contract will expire this year. It is reported that Real Madrid is interested in signing the Canadian left-back for free. His current transfer value on Transfermarkt is €50 million.
