Italian media tuttomercatoweb pointed out that Insigne has no future in Toronto FC and is no longer in the head coach's plans.
Insigne was not used much in the pre-season in Florida, and the team coach made it clear that he was not in the team's plans. Toronto FC originally hoped to sell him in January to make room for another "designated player" and reduce the salary burden. However, the transfer did not take place.
Venice and Cagliari in Italy were interested in signing him, but Cagliari eventually chose other players. In addition, Valladolid and Sivasspor's offers failed to impress Insigne, while Besiktas only made preliminary contacts.
If Toronto FC and the head coach do not change their attitude towards him, Insigne may remain without a ball until this summer. At present, the possibility of termination is very small, and the major European transfer market has been closed.
Insigne's realistic options may only be two: go to the Brazilian league, or transfer to another MLS team. However, no American club has shown obvious interest yet.
