Paulo Dybala meets with MARCA in his only exclusive interview before hosting Athletic today in the Europa League. The world champion with the Albiceleste is the star of this Roma, with which he is in his third season. The talk took place on Tuesday at Trigoria, the historic Roma Sports City.
The following is part of the interview.
Question. What Roma will Athletic encounter?
Answer. An aggressive Roma, with a lot of desire. The Olympic is important, because of how they push us in each game. They were already a difficult opponent in the first phase (1-1), but this time it will be different, I hope.
Q. What is it that most attracts your attention about Athletic Club?
A. I'm very curious to see San Mamés in the return leg. Everyone speaks very well of that stadium, because the people make themselves felt a lot. And in attack, they are a fast and dangerous team, and we already have that in mind for this match.
Q. You have been in Italy for many years (Palermo, Juventus and Roma). Have you never been able to play in Spain?
A. I love LaLiga, I watch it a lot on TV. This year it's very nice, very hard fought, and I would have always liked to play there, but... I've been in Italy for many years now. Then, you never know what can happen in the future.
Q. At the Olympic you experience one of the best atmospheres in Europe. True?
A. I would invite anyone who doesn't know it to come. What you experience here is only seen at Anfield... and a few other stadiums. The Olympic is always full and just hearing the anthem at the beginning gives the stadium an incredible magic. There are few like it, so beautiful.
Q. You have gone six games without losing (five wins and one draw). What does that tell you?
A. In terms of numbers, we are perhaps in the best moment of the season. At home we are strong and we have to try to continue this path against Athletic. We are confident and we have to take advantage of it today.
