Barcelona boast a record of 22 wins, four draws, and five losses from their 31 league matches this season, accumulating 70 points to lead the La Liga table, four points ahead of second-placed Real Madrid, who have played the same number of games.
The Catalan side have scored an impressive 84 goals in their 31 league fixtures this term, and with Real Madrid not playing until Sunday, a win against Celta would extend their lead to seven points at the top.
Hansi Flick's team secured a 1-0 victory over Leganes in La Liga last weekend, but they approach this match after a 3-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
Despite that loss, Barcelona advanced 5-3 on aggregate and are now gearing up to face Inter Milan in the semi-finals, with the first leg scheduled for April 30.
Barcelona are chasing a potential treble late in the season, including a Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid on April 26, making this a crucial period as they face Celta and Mallorca in their upcoming league matches.
Celta drew 2-2 with Barcelona in their earlier meeting this season, but Barcelona won 3-2 in the corresponding fixture of the 2023-24 campaign.
The Sky Blues have a recent away win against Barcelona, triumphing 2-1 in May 2021, and Claudio Giraldez's team has been in strong form lately, positioning them for European qualification.
Celta enter the match following a 2-0 home loss to Espanyol, but they were unbeaten in the eight games prior, with five victories, and currently sit seventh in the table.
The Vigo side are just five points behind sixth-placed Real Betis in the race for a European spot, having scored 44 goals while conceding 45, the highest among the top 12 teams this season.
Celta finished 13th in La Liga last season and haven't placed in the top six since 2016, so much is at stake in the final stages of the 2024-25 campaign.
Barcelona possible starting lineup:
Szczesny; Kounde, Cubarsi, I Martinez, Martin; De Jong, Pedri; Yamal, Fermin, Raphinha; Lewandowski
Celta Vigo possible starting lineup:
Guaita; J Rodriguez, C Dominguez, Alonso, Mingueza; Carreira, F Lopez, Beltran, Moriba, Gonzalez; Duran
