Minnesota United return to action on Saturday, aiming for consecutive MLS victories and three straight wins across all competitions, marking a strong start to their season.

Following a sixth-place finish and a Conference semi-finals playoff exit in the 2024 season, the Loons are now second in the Western Conference, with 19 points from their first 11 games, including five wins and only two losses.

Their second defeat came against Vancouver Whitecaps in late April, ending an eight-match unbeaten streak that yielded 16 points, but they bounced back with a win at Austin FC the following weekend.

An own goal by Ilie Sanchez, along with goals from Anthony Markanich and Joaquin Pereyra, secured a 3-0 victory for Eric Ramsay's team, and they followed up with a 1-0 win over Louisville City in the US Open Cup round of 32, courtesy of Alisa Randell's goal.

Regaining momentum, Minnesota United will seek to extend their winning run on Saturday, solidifying their position as early leaders in the conference, despite trailing Vancouver Whitecaps by seven points.

They face visitors Inter Miami, who are also chasing back-to-back league wins after recovering from a recent setback during an otherwise positive campaign.

After clinching the top spot in the Eastern Conference and the MLS Supporters' Shield last season, only to exit the playoffs in the first round, Inter Miami currently sit fourth, with 21 points from their first 10 games.

Javier Mascherano's team has suffered just one defeat, a 4-3 home loss to FC Dallas late last month, following an unbeaten start; they then dominated New York Red Bulls with a 4-1 win.

Goals from Fafa Picault, Marcelo Weigandt, Luis Suarez, and Lionel Messi fueled that victory, leaving Inter Miami one point behind second and third in the Eastern Conference, and two behind leaders Columbus Crew, with a game in hand on both.

Inter Miami will aim to build on this form with another three points, potentially climbing to the top depending on other results.

Minnesota United will be without Hassani Dotson, Owen Gene, and Kipp Keller due to injuries, while Kelvin Yeboah, who has scored four MLS goals this season, might miss out after sitting out the last two matches.

Eric Ramsay may revert to the lineup from their 3-0 win over Austin FC, with Tani Oluwaseyi leading the attack after netting a team-high five goals this season.

He will be supported in the front three by Joaquin Pereyra and key player Robin Lod, while Carlos Harvey and Wil Trapp return to midfield after being rested for the Louisville City game.

Inter Miami could field the same team from their 4-1 victory over New York Red Bulls, with Drake Callender, David Ruiz, and Baltasar Rodriguez still sidelined.

Lionel Messi will continue to lead the attack alongside Luis Suarez, having scored his ninth MLS goal of the season to reach 43 goals and 21 assists in 53 appearances for the Herons; Suarez has contributed 23 goals and 14 assists across the 2024 and 2025 seasons so far.

Yannick Bright will pair with Sergio Busquets in midfield, while Jordi Alba and Fafa Picault provide threats on the left flank.

Minnesota United possible starting lineup:

St Clair; Boxall, Romero, Diaz; Hlongwane, Harvey, Trapp, Markanich; Pereyra, Oluwaseyi, Lod

Inter Miami possible starting lineup:

Ustari; Weigandt, Allen, Lujan, Alba; Allende, Busquets, Bright, Picault; Suarez, Messi
