As the Bundesliga enters its 32nd round of fixtures, it is time to get serious, with survival and European qualification on the line. So here is what can be confirmed for this weekend:
The championship:
If Bayern Munich beat RB Leipzig, they will be crowned Bundesliga champions. However, if Bayern fail to beat Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen lose to SC Freiburg a day later, they will be crowned champions.
If Bayern lose and Leverkusen win, the decider will be postponed to Bayern's final home game of the season against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Of course, the title race could go down to the wire if Bayern lose their next two games, but given the way Leverkusen have been playing of late, that is unlikely to happen.
UEFA Champions League places for next season:
Eintracht Frankfurt are the only team to have secured a place in Europe for next season.
If Leipzig lose on Saturday and Frankfurt beat Mainz on Sunday, they will join Bayern and Leverkusen in the Champions League next season.
As low as 10th place still has a chance of qualifying for Europe next season, but only the top six will be in Europe next season, unless Stuttgart pull off a miracle to qualify, they are currently 11th on 41 points.
Relegation situation:
The big battle for survival is between Heidenheim and Bochum this evening (Friday). If Bochum win, they will move to within two points of the relegation zone currently occupied by their opponents. If they fail to win, however, they will go down.
A win for Heidenheim would give them a chance of survival, as they are just two points behind Hoffenheim. For the Kraichgauer, things are starting to get nervous as they need to beat Borussia Mönchengladbach to maintain their five-point lead going into the final two games of the season.
Kiel also have a chance to leapfrog Hoffenheim at the end of the season, but they will need to be perfect in their final three games of the season and hope that TSG lose all three of their matches, as the gap between them and Hoffenheim is currently eight points.
