Feyenoord threw away a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 to PSV at De Kuip. This, coupled with Ajax's shock defeat at NEC Nijmegen, ensured that Peter Bosz's fightback team kept their title hopes alive.
Robin van Persie's Feyenoord were 2-0 up inside the first 10 minutes thanks to goals from Paixão and Read, but after taking the lead they made a series of mistakes. Noah Long scored twice in the second half, including the winner in the 90th minute: Feyenoord were down to ten men by then, and right-back Read was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 90th minute.
Ajax continued their poor run of form, losing 4-0 to Utrecht and drawing 1-1 with Sparta Rotterdam before losing 3-0 to Nijmegen last night. Their lead at the top of the Eredivisie has all but disappeared, and they now sit just one point clear with two games remaining. If they keep this up, Ajax could lose the championship to someone else.
There's only one point between PSV and Ajax. PSV end their season with a home game against Heracles Almelo before travelling to Sparta Rotterdam. Ajax will be nervously trying to stay on top with their last two games of the season away to Groningen and at home to Twente.
