Since late April, Inter Miami has not shown the consistency fans are accustomed to, with the Herons securing only one win in their last six competitive matches.
Under Javier Mascherano, the team has conceded 12 goals in their last four MLS games but has stayed competitive due to their strong attack, scoring 11 goals in those matches.
Inter Miami has earned just one point from their previous two league games and could match their longest winless streak from last season.
Unusually, the Herons have dropped points in half of their regular-season games this year (3 out of 6), including losses in two of their last three competitive fixtures at Chase Stadium.
They have managed to recover and gain positive results in two regular-season games this year after conceding first, earning four points in the process.
In their previous four home games against Orlando City across all competitions, the Herons have won three, including the last two at Chase Stadium by a combined score of 8-1.
After a tough start to the regular season, where the Lions won just one of their first four fixtures, they seem to have regained their form.
Oscar Pareja's side has collected points in 10 straight league games, positioning them just two points behind Nashville SC and close to a top-four spot in the Eastern Conference.
Although they have scored three or more goals in five regular-season games, Orlando has struggled away from Inter & Co Stadium, failing to score in their last three domestic away matches.
Conversely, they have lost only once away from home this season, keeping clean sheets in their previous three league games as visitors.
With 21 points after 13 matchdays, Orlando has four more points than they had at this stage in the 2024 MLS regular season.
Orlando City has earned points in two of their last three meetings against the Herons in this competition but hasn't secured a full win at Chase Stadium since 2023 (a 3-1 victory).
On Wednesday, Fafa Picault missed the Miami game due to a migraine, David Ruiz was out with a hamstring strain, and Drake Callender was sidelined because of an adductor strain.
Lionel Messi's two-game goalscoring streak in MLS ended midweek, with Tadeo Allende scoring a brace against the Quakes and Maximiliano Falcon adding another goal.
Nicolas Rodriguez was absent from the Orlando City lineup against Charlotte due to a thigh strain, and Eduard Atuesta was out with a neck injury.
Luis Muriel scored early for Orlando after just eight minutes on Wednesday, with Martin Ojeda and Ramiro Enrique also scoring.
Inter Miami possible starting lineup:
Ustari; Lujan, Falcon, Martinez, Alba; Redondo, Busquets; Cremaschi, Messi, Allende; Suarez
Orlando City possible starting lineup:
Gallese; Freeman, Schlegel, Jansson, Brekalo, Santos; Smith, Araujo, Thorhallsson, Ojeda; Muriel
