Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has expressed no desire to leave this summer, but acknowledges that the club might decide to sell him following their disappointing loss in the Europa League final to Tottenham.
The 30-year-old midfielder has been a standout performer in an otherwise poor season at Old Trafford, though his form waned during Wednesday's 1-0 defeat to fellow Premier League side Spurs in Bilbao.
Fernandes has recently been linked with a potential move to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, leading head coach Ruben Amorim to emphasize that United should retain 'one of the world's top players'.
However, the Europa League final loss carries financial implications, as it means they will miss out on Champions League qualification, sparking new questions about the captain's future due to the absence of European football.
'I've always said I will stay here until the club tells me it's time to go,' Fernandes stated. 'I'm eager to achieve more and help bring the club back to its glory days.'
'If the club decides it's time to part ways, perhaps to cash in or for other reasons, that's just how football works,' he added. 'I've always kept my word on this.'
