Ange Postecoglou dropped a significant hint that he will remain at Tottenham, telling fans: "In all the best TV shows, season three is better than season two."

The Australian manager's future had been in serious doubt, with Tottenham in 17th place and struggling in the Premier League.

However, they delivered an outstanding performance on Wednesday, ending their 17-year trophy drought by winning the Europa League against Manchester United in Bilbao.

This victory supports Postecoglou's bold September claim that he "always wins trophies in his second season."

European success might now secure his position.

Speaking at Tottenham's trophy parade yesterday, he said: "I told them and they laughed. I told them and they didn’t believe. But here we are.

"We’re here because of this incredible group of people, players, and staff.

"Absolute heroes led by the legend Son Heung-min, Cristian Romero, James Maddison, and Guglielmo Vicario.

"All of them, heroes. And they did it all for you, because you deserve it.

"This club deserves it. And I’ll leave you with this — all the best television series have season three better than season two. Thank you."

Chairman Daniel Levy was not visible on the parade bus but attended the celebrations.

He had been expected to dismiss the 59-year-old manager despite the trophy win, but Postecoglou's comments about a third season suggest otherwise.

Postecoglou's powerful statement was followed by Brennan Johnson, captain Son Heung-min, and vice-captain James Maddison addressing the crowd energetically in front of approximately 200,000 fans outside the stadium.

This celebration, described as "insane" by exhausted goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, marked 34 years since the last one.

Tottenham's previous trophy was the League Cup in 2008, but their last parade was in 1991 after winning the FA Cup with players like Gary Lineker, Gary Mabbutt, and Paul Gascoigne.

The event featured lively music, including classics like Sweet Caroline, the new fan favorite 'We won it in Bilbao' set to Shakira's 2010 World Cup song Waka Waka (This time for Africa).

The players, wearing champion shirts with '25' on the back and oddly sporting ski goggles, boarded the bus amid waves of blue-and-white flags and flare smoke.

Richarlison was jumping excitedly at the front, Bissouma had his shirt off, and Cristian Romero, the Europa League Player of the Season, was enjoying a beer.
