Erik ten Hag is nearing a return to management with Bayer Leverkusen, according to ESPN.
Ten Hag and his representatives have held constructive talks with the Bundesliga club, with both sides hopeful of reaching an agreement.
The Dutch coach has been unattached since departing Manchester United in November.
He is reluctant to return to his former club Ajax, which has a vacancy, and prefers to take charge at Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayer Leverkusen seeks a new manager after Xabi Alonso agreed to join Real Madrid, following Real Madrid's manager taking the Brazil national team role.
