Los Angeles Galaxy will be without Spanish midfielder Riqui Puig, who is still sidelined due to an ACL injury from December.
Aside from any last-minute fitness issues, Puig is the only confirmed absentee for LA Galaxy, allowing head coach Vanney to select from a nearly full-strength squad on Thursday.
For San Jose Earthquakes, manager Arena cannot include the midfield duo of Niko Tsakiris and 20-year-old Englishman Noel Buck, both ruled out due to injuries.
First-choice goalkeeper Daniel has missed the last two games since getting injured against New England Revolution on May 18, and the 31-year-old is unavailable for the visitors.
Veteran forward Cristian Arango will sit out his fourth consecutive game because of a muscle injury and will not participate in Wednesday's matchup.
Possible starting lineup for Los Angeles Galaxy:
Micovic; Yamane, Yoshida, Garces, Nelson; Cerrillo, Sanabria, Reus; Pec, Fagundez, Paintsil
Possible starting lineup for San Jose Earthquakes:
Edwards Jr; Floriani, Romney, Munie; Jones, Harkes, Leroux, Costa; Espinoza, Munoz, Martinez
