According to The Athletic, Serie A is in talks to arrange a league match between AC Milan and Como in Australia. The game, scheduled for the weekend of February 7-8, 2026, in Perth, Australia, is set to become the first official European top-flight league match held overseas.
Since Milan’s home stadium, San Siro, will be hosting the opening ceremony of the 2026 Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics on February 6 (the Games run from February 6 to 22, 2026), the club cannot use the venue.
Normally, the Milanese clubs (AC Milan and Inter Milan) play their home matches on different matchdays. However, to ease scheduling pressure during the Winter Olympics and Paralympics opening period in February, both teams have already planned to play their first home matches of the new season against Cremonese and Torino, respectively.
