According to Spanish newspaper AS, the official match ball for the FIFA Club World Cup will be equipped with an embedded chip.
AS used penalty kicks as an example, explaining that if a "double touch" violation occurs, the chip inside the ball can accurately determine whether an infraction took place. The chip collects real-time data on the ball's movement trajectory and position, detecting even the slightest touch.
The chip is securely embedded in the ball's central suspension system and features a 500Hz inertial measurement function, along with two core technologies: PrecisionShell and CTR-Core.
PrecisionShell: Composed of 20 external panels for enhanced aerodynamics.
CTR-Core: The internal structure that ensures stability and reliability.
Using ultra-wideband (UWB) and inertial measurement unit (IMU) technology, the ball can precisely track its trajectory in complex scenarios—from the force and angle of contact to its flight path. All data is synchronized in real time, eliminating any room for human error or subjective judgment.
