In their defeat to the Timbers, St. Louis were without Rasmus Alm due to a sore hip, and Joakim Nilsson was sidelined because of a knee injury.
Akil Watts gave St. Louis an early lead in the second half with his first MLS goal of the campaign, though that advantage lasted only five minutes.
For the Galaxy, Marco Reus missed their match against RSL due to a hamstring strain, and Riqui Puig remained out as he recovers from a cruciate ligament tear.
Lucas Sanabria and Joseph Paintsil scored the goals that secured their victory in the previous match, while Novak Micovic made four saves to earn a clean sheet.
