Manchester United has been given a challenging schedule to open the 2025-26 Premier League season, starting with a match against Arsenal at Old Trafford, as revealed in the league's fixture list on Wednesday.
Under manager Ruben Amorim, the team aims to recover from their worst Premier League season on record, but they face tough early tests with matches against Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea in the first five games.
United will then face rivals Liverpool at Anfield three games later on October 18.
Amorim believes that the absence of European competitions could benefit the team this season, and he hopes the extra rest will help during the festive period when the schedule eases—United will host four home games in December, including tough matches against Aston Villa and Newcastle United.
United's final run could be crucial, with a home game against Liverpool on May 2 as their fourth-to-last fixture, followed by away games against Sunderland, a home match against Nottingham Forest, and an away game against Brighton.
Players will have less than three weeks to prepare for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, scheduled to begin on June 11.
