Maria Angela de Sousa Ocampos, the secretary of Corinthians' Deliberative Council, has taken over as president of the Council by removing Romeu Tuma Júnior from his position. She has nullified all of Tuma's recent decisions, including the impeachment that would reinstate Augusto Melo as president.

Augusto Melo is now at the Parque São Jorge headquarters seeking to reclaim the presidency, while Osmar Stabile, the interim president, denounces the action as a 'coup' and threatens to involve the police.
