David Beckham, former England star and co-owner of MLS club Inter Miami, has criticized players at his former club Manchester United. According to UK's Mirror and others, Beckham stated on CBS Sports: "It's a tough time. I don't like seeing what's happening at the club," emphasizing that "I'm talking about the players' conduct. They must represent the badge – that's what the badge stands for."
He further stressed: "We were part of a team with manners. We understood what it meant to play for Man Utd, what the badge represented. We respected fans everywhere – whether in Europe or Asia. Respecting those who pay, who ask for autographs and photos. Now only one or two players (not all) are disregarding this."
Amid United's worst-ever league start (16th place) and trophy-less season, their Asia tour sparked controversy. Forward Alejandro Garnacho flipped off cameras after losing to the ASEAN All-Stars, while Amad was filmed giving fans the middle finger in Malaysia (claiming "my mother was insulted"). The Mirror noted Beckham's remarks "clearly allude to junior players' behavior during the Asia tour," suggesting the club legend feels profound frustration.
