The thrilling Championship season is down to its final round, with all matches of the 46th round set to kick off simultaneously at 11:00 on May 3.
In the race for the title, Leeds United and Burnley stand out. Both teams have amassed 97 points and have already secured their spots in the Premier League for the upcoming season.
Now, their sights are firmly set on the Championship trophy. A significant factor in this battle is goal difference. Leeds United boasts a goal difference of 64, far surpassing Burnley's 51.
There are three possibilities for Burnley to win the championship:
1. Leeds United loses and Burnley remains undefeated
2. Leeds United draws and Burnley wins
3. Both teams win and Burnley wins by 14 goals in the last round (this is obviously unlikely to happen)
In the final round, Leeds United will travel to face Plymouth, who currently sit 23rd in the table. Plymouth's hopes of avoiding relegation hinge on a near - miraculous outcome, which seems highly unlikely.
On the other hand, Burnley will take on Millwall, positioned 7th. Millwall still has a shot at breaking into the top six; they are just one point behind Bristol City, who occupy the 5th spot. Evidently, Burnley's fixture is much more challenging compared to Leeds United's.
As a result, if Leeds United maintains a solid performance, they are poised to win the Championship trophy for the first time since the 19/20 season.
