Al Nassr had a resounding victory over Al Okhdood in round 31 of the Saudi Pro League.
At Prince Hathloul bin Abdulaziz Sports City on May 12, Al Nassr created a one-sided game when they controlled the ball 76% of the time, had 25 shots with 15 on target - compared to 4 and 1 of Al Okhdood.
In the first half, Al Nassr led 4-0 thanks to Ayman Yahya, Marcelo Brozovic and a double from Jhon Duran - the striker recruited from Aston Villa for a fee of 77 million euros.
At the start of the second half, Al Okhdood were down a man after goalkeeper Paulo Vitor received a straight red card. Thanks to that, Al Nassr continued to dominate and scored 5 more goals, including 4 goals from Sadio Mane and a penalty kick from Mohammed Maran.
With this result, Al Nassr rose to third place, returning to the group to participate in the AFC Champions League next season. But Ronaldo's team has no hope of winning the championship, 11 points behind the top team Al Ittihad, with 3 rounds left.
The reason for Ronaldo's absence is currently unknown. The relationship between the 40-year-old striker and Al Nassr is said to be showing signs of tension.
Ronaldo's current contract with Al Nassr expires at the end of this season. He had wanted to extend it by one year, but may change his mind because the team has not won any titles. The 40-year-old striker is said to only renew if the team meets several conditions, including replacing coach Stefano Pioli, sporting director and more foreign players.
