The Atlanta Falcons experienced a dynamic offseason, releasing several players due to salary cap limitations. Most prominently, they let go of Grady Jarrett, a veteran who dedicated his entire career to the team in Atlanta.

Last season, the Falcons faced challenges in maintaining a reliable pass rush and addressed this by drafting talented edge rushers Jalon Walker and James Pearce. However, they might still seek a veteran addition.

"The Atlanta Falcons had one of the NFL's weakest pass rushes last year and tackled this by selecting first-round picks Jalon Walker and James Pearce," David Latham noted. "Though these two show potential to form a formidable pair for years, the team needs more experience. Acquiring Jadeveon Clowney from divisional rival Carolina Panthers could provide a temporary starter to guide Walker and Pearce in the NFL."

While bolstering the defense is crucial, the main uncertainty lies on offense, particularly regarding Kirk Cousins. Despite his substantial contract, recent struggles have positioned Michael Penix Jr. as the likely starter.

Amid this quarterback dilemma, the Falcons benefit from having a rising star in wide receiver Drake London. As a top pick from the 2022 draft class, London holds the highest PFF grade among receivers from that year, and the team is eager to retain him beyond his rookie deal.

Offensive coordinator Zac Robinson praised London highly.

"Drake is a dog," Robinson said in January. "That's the simplest way to put it, whether in practice, meetings, or games."

London has consistently stood out in an offense that has faced inconsistencies. This season could mark a pivotal shift, especially offensively.
