The Miami Dolphins appear determined to trade All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey, with the destination still uncertain.
According to Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox, the Baltimore Ravens could be the perfect fit, potentially executing a major late-offseason deal.
The Ravens ended the 2024 season ranked 31st in the NFL for passing yards allowed, highlighting a clear need for defensive upgrades. They made subtle additions this offseason, including signing veteran Chidobe Awuzie in free agency and drafting cornerbacks T.J. Tampa and Robert Longerbeam in the sixth round.
For a team aiming for Super Bowl contention, Knox argues it's time for a bold move.
“Acquiring Ramsey would align with Baltimore's strategy and enhance their cornerback depth as they chase the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs,” Knox noted. “The Ravens have consistently pursued veteran talent to strengthen their roster.”
He pointed out the Ravens’ pattern of taking chances on experienced players, with Ramsey fitting this profile.
“General manager Eric DeCosta has a history of bringing in seasoned veterans like Odell Beckham Jr., Derrick Henry, and DeAndre Hopkins when they can contribute significantly.”
CBS Sports’ Brad Crawford shares this view in his recent breakdown.
“The Ravens ranked 31st in passing yards allowed and have added depth since their Super Bowl push,” Crawford wrote. “With Awuzie signed and rookies like T.J. Tampa and Robert Longerbeam added via the draft, the team has a track record of integrating veterans—such as Beckham's one-year stint in 2023 and Henry's successful addition last year.”
There's also a connection through Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, who spent three seasons with the Ravens, potentially smoothing Ramsey's integration due to shared defensive philosophies from their time together in 2022 and 2023.
The nine-year veteran is contracted through 2028, with $24.3 million guaranteed for 2025. Any trade involving him must wait until after June 1 because of salary cap constraints.
With the Dolphins fielding more interest than expected and the Ravens seeking a proven secondary player, this potential deal is one to monitor closely.
