Having secured their World Cup spot, Japan's coach Moriyasu selected an experimental squad, omitting several key players for this match.
The players such as Kaoru Mitoma, Ao Tanaka, Ko Itakura, Ayase Ueda, and Hidemasa Morita were not included, as the Samurai Blue introduced seven first-time call-ups.
Yu Hirakawa from Bristol City and Kota Tawaratsumida from FC Tokyo made their debuts against Australia, supporting Blackburn Rovers striker Yuki Ohashi, who was on his second appearance.
After a disappointing performance against Australia, Moriyasu may make some changes. Liverpool's Wataru Endo is expected to feature as Japan aims to finish their qualifying campaign with a win.
Indonesia achieved a 1-0 victory over China in their last match, with two players earning their international debuts.
Palermo goalkeeper Emil Audero had a quiet debut, saving China's only shot on target, while Yance Sayuri was more active on the right flank.
With no new injury issues for Indonesia, coach Kluivert has flexibility in selection, but few changes are anticipated after their solid performance against China.
Japan's possible starting lineup:
Tani; Machida, Watanabe, Hiroki; Kamada, Kubo, Endo, Fujita; Nakamura, Hirakawa; Machino
Indonesia's possible starting lineup:
Audero; Hubner, Idzes, Ridho; Verdonk, Pelupessy, Haye, Sayuri; Kambuaya, Vikri; Romeny
