Andrés García will rejoin the Spain U21 national team's training camp as they prepare to depart for Slovakia this Sunday to compete in the UEFA U21 European Championship. The Aston Villa player will replace Peque, who has been ruled out due to injury, taking his spot in the final 23-man squad.
Peque, the Deportivo La Coruña forward, sustained an injury during Spain’s match against Ukraine on Friday. Following necessary examinations by the medical staff of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and after submitting all relevant documentation to UEFA, it was confirmed that Peque has suffered a left knee injury, ruling him out of the tournament.
Andrés García, who was initially part of the 26-player preliminary squad for the Euro U21 Championship, will now join the team’s training session and travel with the delegation to Slovakia this afternoon.
