Eberechi Eze scored either side of half-time to give Crystal Palace a 2-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, condemning the hosts to their 20th Premier League defeat of the season.

Palace's first league win since early April kept them in 12th place on 49 points - the highest tally in the Premier League with two games remaining.

Both teams had little to play for, but there was an air of optimism at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Palace having reached the FA Cup final and Spurs within touching distance of Europa League glory.

However, the home supporters' jubilation quickly dissipated as they endured a frustrating afternoon in which Palace had the hosts on the ropes from the outset, scoring before the end of the first half and early in the second. Tottenham were unable to fight back.

The defeat extended a miserable run of form for Tottenham, who have won just once in 10 league games, and dropped them to 17th in the table after West Ham United beat Manchester United.

Only Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton, who have already been relegated, are below them and the north London club are on course for their lowest finish since 1976-77, when they finished 22nd and were relegated from the top flight.

They also suffered an injury blow when striker Dejan Kulusevski went off injured after just 19 minutes - a major concern for manager Ange Postecoglou with the Europa League final against United just 10 days away.

The only good news was the return from injury of captain Son Heung-min, who came on as a second-half substitute.
