Jack Wilshere has left Norwich by mutual consent, as confirmed by the Sky Bet Championship club.

Former Arsenal midfielder Wilshere joined the coaching staff in October 2024 and, after the departures of Johannes Hoff Thorup and Glen Riddersholm, served as interim head coach for the final two games of the season.

Under his leadership, Wilshere managed a goalless draw against Middlesbrough and a 4-2 victory over Cardiff at Carrow Road on the last day, but was not selected in the search for a permanent replacement for Hoff Thorup.

The 33-year-old shared his farewell message on social media, stating: "I can confirm that I have today left Norwich City to pursue my career as a Head Coach.

"I would like to thank everyone at Norwich for the opportunity to advance my coaching journey with you all; I have built relationships that will continue to grow. Thank you to the incredible Canaries fans for your warm welcome from the moment I joined.

"I have cherished every moment at the club and wish you all the very best for the future."

Sporting director Ben Knapper added on the club's website: "Jack made a significant impact during his time with us.

"He formed strong connections with our players and staff, and we are all disappointed to see him go.

"We are grateful for his role as interim head coach for the final two games, but we respect his ambition to explore other opportunities.

"He departs with our best wishes, and we will follow his career closely. I am confident he will achieve great success in senior coaching roles."
