Construction on the Nou Mestalla, the future stadium for Valencia CF, resumed on January 11 after a 16-year halt due to funding issues. The stadium is targeted to open by summer 2027.
Meanwhile, Valencia CF continues to play its home matches at the existing Mestalla as work advances on the new venue, including upcoming bids for the metal structure and roof.
International media outlets, such as Sportbible, have highlighted the stadium's condition and the club's financial challenges. They noted, 'It’s still empty, but not abandoned since work has restarted.'
The project has faced numerous setbacks from the start due to financial difficulties. Architect Mark Fenwick described the resumption as 'a pivotal moment for the club and the city.'
According to the club, construction is ahead of schedule. Construction company FCC has begun interior architecture work earlier than planned, shortening the original timeline.
