Mikel Arteta has announced that Arsenal will make a last-minute decision on whether Mikel Merino and Ben White can feature in the starting lineup against Paris Saint-Germain at the Emirates Stadium.
Merino and White were absent for last week's 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace but have returned to training just before Tuesday's Champions League match.
'Ben and Mikel have trained, so we'll assess if they can start tomorrow,' said the Arsenal manager.
With Thomas Partey suspended and unavailable in midfield, Arteta has been using Merino as a makeshift striker, and his potential inclusion from the start would be a significant boost.
Meanwhile, if White can play the full game at full-back, it could provide defensive cover for left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly, in case Arteta opts to use the teenager as a replacement for Partey in central midfield, his natural position.
Merino could also address Partey's absence in midfield if Arteta chooses a more dynamic front three led by Leandro Trossard.
Defender Riccardo Calafiori is still not fit to train.
