Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool forward, has been named the Premier League Player of the Season for the second time in his career. The Egyptian star delivered an outstanding performance, helping Arne Slot's team secure their second Premier League title.
Salah contributed 28 goals and 18 assists, guiding Liverpool to victory and clinching the championship with four games left in the season.
He previously won the award in the 2017-18 season, making him only the fifth player to achieve this feat, following Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidic, and Kevin De Bruyne.
At 32, Salah is poised to win another Golden Boot, currently leading Newcastle United's Alexander Isak by five goals ahead of the final matchday on Sunday.
No player has ever recorded 46 goal involvements in a 38-game season. Salah could surpass the record of 47 set by Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole in a 42-game season when Liverpool faces Crystal Palace at Anfield, broadcast live on Sky Sports.
With six more assists than any other player, Salah needs just two more against Palace to tie the all-time single-season record of 20, shared by Henry and De Bruyne. He could also become the first player to win the Golden Boot, Golden Playmaker, and Player of the Season awards in the same season.
Earlier this month, Salah was honored with the Football Writers' Association Men's Player of the Year award for the third time.
Additionally, Liverpool's midfielder Ryan Gravenberch received the Premier League Young Player of the Year award.
